Iqwal… I’m Your Fan!

We were doing some groceries at a nearby supermarket the other day when this beautiful song was playing. It had a very nice music and the singer just had to be so talented. After wondering for some time, I just had to look for the song in the internet. I browsed in the internet using the keywords that I got to capture while listening to the song. Finally, I found it…

The name of the song is Rania and the singer is Iqwal… It was a real shock to me to find out that he is actually a Malaysian (the country which only one fifth of America knows about) for his English accent is just too good. Going deeper into cyberspace, I found the following information:

Awards that Iqwal had received:

  •  ’THE BEST INTERNATIONAL ARTISTE AWARD’ In World Best Talent, KODAK Theatre, Los Angeles, U.S. (IQWAL represented Malaysia)
  • 4 GOLD MEDALS In WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF PERFORMING ARTS in Hollywood, Los Angeles. (IQWAL represented Malaysia)
  • 1 SILVER MEDALS In WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF PERFORMING ARTS in Hollywood, Los Angeles. (IQWAL represented Malaysia)
  • 1 HOLLYWOOD INDUSTRY AWARD In WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF PERFORMING ARTS in Hollywood, Los Angeles. (IQWAL represented Malaysia)
  • ‘THE MOST PROMISING ARTISTE IN ASEAN’ In ‘ASEAN Golden Melody Festival 2011′ in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. (IQWAL represented Malaysia)

Iqwal can sing in 16 different languages:

  1. Arabic
  2. Cantonese
  3. English
  4. Hindi
  5. Iban
  6. Italian
  7. Japanese
  8. Kadazan
  9. Korean
  10. Malay
  11. Mandarin
  12. Mexican Latin
  13. Spanish
  14. Tagalog
  15. Tamil
  16. Thai

It is a wonder why he hadn’t reached worldwide fame yet. He is much better than the Justin Bieber who had made teen/tween girls go crazy.  I’m not sure but people seems to judge the qualities of the singers wrongly these days…

I’ll try to find some time after these exams that I’m doing to write more about him.

Anyhow, to Iqwal, I pray that your future will be bright and you’ll have a very successful career… I am your fan!

Everything I __

She’s all I have __ for

Seems like she’s never coming home

After all my faith is almost gone

You hear me __

Temptation’s Bout To Get Me

Temptation’s Bout To Get Me

Temptation’s Bout To Get Me

And all my faith __ __ __ in time

Home On The Range (An American Folk Song)

My all time favourite folk song.  This song is the state song of the American state of Kansas. Written by Dr. Brewster M. Higley, it was originally a poem. The poem was first published in a December 1873 issue of the Smith County Pioneer under the title “Oh, Give Me a Home Where the Buffalo Roam”. Later, Highley’s friend, Daniel E. Kelley wrote the music for the song. The song was adopted by settlers, cowboys, and others and spread across the USA in various forms which is the reason of why the original words aren’t identical to today’s but similar. During the early 20th century, it was arranged by Texas composer David W. Guion. It was officially adopted as the state song of Kansas on June 30, 1947, and is commonly regarded as the unofficial anthem of the American West.

This version of the folk song is played with accordion and rhythm:
